Power Lines

$10.00

No rural landscape is complete without a crazy maze of powerlines, disrupting the sky. A meeting place for birds, a source of fear during hurricane and tornado season, and target practice when we tried to hit said birds with rocks and watch them fly away. The older me appreciates the feeling of connectiveness and energy I get when I see them.

The cover photograph for the power lines notebooks was taken in the Mississippi Delta, as we were traveling to a family reunion.

This saddle-stitched notebook is approximately 5.5 wide × 7.5 inches long. As these are made by hand, one at a time, sizes may vary slightly and there may be slight imperfections. Power lines has 40 pages of white, unlined paper. Your notebook will be shipped wrapped in a plastic sleeve and includes a short, handwritten personal reflection on an aspect of its life cycle.

About This Series

Because I was born, raised, and currently conduct research in the rural Deep South of the United States, I am privileged to consistently be exposed to some pretty spectacular vistas. From the cover photography to the paper cutting, the Rural Notes series is a limited edition of hand-constructed notebooks designed to capture a quintessential—but often overlooked—aspect of rural life. The currently available covers are from my travels to Mississippi (where I was born) and Oklahoma (the home of my mother’s side of the family).
